Education

Math major at Indiana State University graduated in may 2016. GPA of 3.68 My GPA could have been higher but I struggled myself with time management and balancing home live and having three kids with going to full time schooling. My High school time was spent a little at Terre Haute South Vigo HS and a little at Northview HS in Brazil Indiana. I graduated with 3.85 gpa and received a Core 40 academic honors diploma.

Experience

Update: i have moved to north central florida and now have a career teaching calculus and geometry at a magnet public school. I will be starting my third year in the fall. I tutor at ivy tech community college, mostly trig, and college algebra. I have also tutored high school chemistry and calculus, in home. I have experience tutor mathematics at Ivy Tech Community College. I worked there in college helping students with coursework and exam prep. I understand concepts and am able to explain them in a way that most of the students say "this is so simple why did I think it was so impossible?" I love helping others learn it is rewarding for me as well as them. I also have children so I know how it can feel with your child is struggling, I will do everything to help them. I have had experience tutoring small children, high school and College level. The only age group that I lack experience is middle school aged. In high school I was a math-lete and competed in competitions up to state championship. When I tutor a student, I like to first watch them and see exactly what part of the question they are struggling with. I know from my own experience that sometimes when you ask an instructor for help, they explain and explain but never actually answer the underlying question. I focus on figuring out what that question is and explaining it clearly and in a variety of ways. By explaining the same problem multiple ways, it insures that whatever type of learner the student is, they walk away knowing how to complete that problem on their own. I have never received lower than a B in any math course. I can complete the square, integrate, use the quadratic formula, factor polynomials, the list goes on. I am able to remember and tutor on command. I love chemistry, especially computing the theoretical yields and doing unit conversions etc. I can also help to remember reactions and qualities of different elements and chemicals.
